where it all began..sort of
I thought I’d start at the beginning. Well, it’s not quite the actual beginning, but more so than not. It’s more of the beginning, the starting point, the reason why this blog has come to life. I have recently fallen in love with reading several blogs about home improvement and life. And people have been asking and asking for pictures of our
new house. It’s not newly built but new to us. We are the third owners of this house that we call home. You can read a short-er version of our life up until now here or you can just start reading here. When we found out that our next assignment would take us to Dayton, OH we knew it was time to plant some roots. So we looked and looked and looked at houses galore and found two that we really liked. Before we could get our paperwork in one of the houses was taken off the market. So sad. Fortunately the other one was still available and we started our the negotiations. We stuck to our guns and came out on top. The first night in the house was dark. We didn’t have much with us on the road trip from AL to OH. Luckily our stuff was being delivered the next day. An unfortunate incident occurred which left us in a not so great situation. We were stressed and frustrated and flustered from all that was going on so we didn’t get to take pictures of the house before everything went down. It’s been a few months since we moved in and plenty has happened already. Plenty to us means a few to others. =) Fortunately I found some pictures on Trulia.com from when the house was on the market. Please excuse the graininess.
This is the front of the house
This is the entryway
This is the room just to the right of the entryway – The Office
Then you see the living room
And to the left is the kitchen
To the left of the kitchen is the laundry nook, the garage door and the door that leads to the basement. Sorry! No pictures of the unfinished basement yet.
When you go up the stairs, you’ll find this room at the top and to the left
It is quite strange that this room has wood flooring. And even stranger that the closet has wood flooring too!
In between this next bedroom is a linen closet
And inbetween this bedroom and the next is the guest bathroom, of which there are no pictures
Right next to that bedroom is OUR bedroom
This is our bathroom. The wording up on the wall can’t be taken off. Any suggestions??
The sliding door leads to the backyard
Here are some pictures of the backyard
Well, that’s it for now. I hope that you were able to get a good picture of what our new home looks like. Stay tuned for some of our project updates.
